The Esports Weekly Wrap-Up: Oct 1-Oct 7
Summer Muster October 6th, 2023
The second week of the Esports program at UI is upon us, and included some big events!

Monday night’s Rocket League teams had a big audience turnout. Varsity fought tooth and nail against University of Fairbanks, only losing by one point in overtime 2-3. The JV team managed to take down Washington State Gold 3-2 in the first in-person match ever for the program. The WSU opponents were great competition and we were happy to have them over. Thanks Cougs! Overwatch was dealt a win by forfeit from Stone Child College on Tuesday, setting them at 1 win and 1 loss thus far in the season. Valorant dominated once again Wednesday against the University of Redlands. They had a 2-0 match that had viewers on the edge of their seats! Thursday’s Smash Ult match was postponed to Saturday against George Fox and they were also once again dominant in 7-0 and 4-0 victories. Friday night marked the first CS2 match of the season. They started off strong winning 2-0 against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Prescott.
